Met winning streak over at three

The New York Mets lost last night to the Dodgers at Shea Stadium, 9-5. The loss ends the Mets winning streak at three games.

Much maligned Mets reliever Aaron Heilman (who looks a bit like Michael J Fox..) was the goat. After a tremendous week that featured him pitching four scoreless innings, manager Willie Randolph decided to trust him to nurse a one run lead in the eight.
The result was disaster for the Mets as Heilman, aided by a blown call at first base, gave up four hits in a five run inning.

Heilman left the mound to a chorus of boos from Mets fans. I am hopeful that the great week we saw out of the Mets pen was no tease and that last night's performance was just one bad outing,  but time will tell. The Mets, like any team, obviously can't  go  very   far  without a  reliable  bull pen.
In other news, Luis Castillo left the game with a strained hip flexor...good news for some Mets fans I am sure. The extent of the injury is not clear.

Keep it in perspective Mets fans, we have won three out of four. It is critical though for the team to respond with a solid win today.
