Pedro impressive through 3 innings!
Through 3 innings against the powerful Tigers lineup, Pedro Martinez looks sharp. The Mets have a 2-0 lead thanks to a lead off triple in the 1st by Jose Reyes and a run scoring sac fly by him in the 2nd. Ivan Rodriguez led off the game with a bloop single to right on the very first pitch. On the next Carlos Guillen grounded into a double play. Two pitches, two outs. Pedro showed his veteran skill and poise by working his way out of a one out bases loaded jam in the second. He also pitched a scoreless 3rd which featured a nasty curve ball that just froze Cabrerra. Very encouraging signs for Mets fans.
The news isn’t all good though as the Mets ridiculous string of injuries continues. Ramon Castro left the game in the second inning as he appeared to aggravate his hamstring. He was replaced by Gustavo Molina who made a perfect throw to nail Ivan Rodriguez trying to steal second base.
Yes and Santana looked great against the cardinals ,maybe you boys should not have gone after him the mettsies are going to have to pay alot for him……good luck you gonna need it.
Buzzy
I am not worried, a couple of poor outings in spring training doesn’t take away from the fact that Santana is the best pitcher in Baseball. And Pedro looks like he might be back to form. It’s all good.
What is all good, is you guys spending all that money on him, and not us. Ill stick to the old man and the rookies to handle our team. Lets Go PHILSSSSS
